Welcome to National Flash Fiction Day’s website.
Mark your calendars for 22 June 2013 — National Flash Fiction Day.
Because life is short. And so is some of the best fiction.

COMPETITION
This year, like last year, we are hosting a national flash fiction competition. The submission period is 1 April through 31 May 2013. Please view the Competition page to learn more.

EVENTS
A prize-giving ceremony and readings will take place in the Whare Wānanga of the Auckland City Central Library Saturday, 22 June 2013. Like last year’s event, this will be an evening for writers and readers alike. All are welcome. More information will be posted as the event’s festivities are further planned, but count on readings, sharing and prizegiving.
Last year, NFFD events took place all over Aotearoa, and we expect this year to be even bigger and better. The Events page will be updated in the coming weeks as communities organise workshops and other flash gatherings.
If you would like to hold a reading or local event and would like it advertised and supported by NFFD, please get in touch!
And watch this space for news of happenings in a neighbourhood near you.
